TODAY'S DEVOTION:     MARCH 25, 2020

Reflection:

A family was watching The Greatest Story Ever Told, a film on the life of Christ. One of the children in the family was deeply moved. As Jesus journeyed to Calvary, tears rolled down her cheeks. She sat absolutely silent until Jesus had been taken down from the cross and put into the tomb. Then she suddenly grinned and shouted excitedly,

"Now comes the good part!" Now comes the good part! Indeed it does!

The resurrection of our Lord is the basis of our faith. Without it, we would be lost!

Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

THE GOSPEL WOULD BE MEANINGLESS.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

(Romans 10:9 /KJV).

FORGIVENESS OF SINS WOULD BE HOPELESS.

"And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins."

(I Corinthians 15:17 / KJV).

PRESENT LIFE WOULD BE JOYLESS.

"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable."

(I Corinthians 15:18-19 /KJV).

GODLY LIVING WOUND BE FRUITLESS.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

(John 14:12 /KJV).

FUTURE LIFE WOULD BE WORTHLESS.

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

(John 14:1-2 /KJV).

Do you understand what is at stake?

  • If there is no resurrection, there is no Gospel;

  • if there is no Gospel, there is no forgiveness of sin;

  • if there is no forgiveness of sin, there is no present joy;

  • if there is no present joy, there is no future hope.

We may sit silently during part of this life; we may shed abundant tears of sadness as we watch and wait. But just remember that Christ is preparing a place for us in His Father's house . . . and then comes the good part!

Prayer:

Lord, l am so grateful of my salvation. Thank You for saving me through Your blood. Thank You for Your wonderful grace. Thank You Jesus that Your death, burial, and resurrection, gives me hope, that on my appointed time, l will also be resurrected like You and dwell in a mansion You prepared for me. I will no longer afraid of death because l know, l will be with You rejoicing forever. Thank You Jesus for the promise, in Your Name l pray, Amen.
