WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ONE PUT HIS FAITH IN JESUS?
Pastor Christian Alix
Have you ever opened the hood of a car and wondered what was going on in there? A car engine can look like a big confusing jumble of metal, tubes and wires. The moment the driver engage the gear and release the clutch, many, many things happen! But perhaps, what the driver all knows is that the car is moving.
At that moment a sinner accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior so many things happened, though he may not be conscious of more than “sins forgiven “or “peace” or “happiness”. A Christian will learn gradually about what has taken place in his life – a life towards godliness.
Let us see these insightful biblical truths:
-
Saved by Christ – John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
-
Accepted Christ by God’s Grace – Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
-
Child of God – John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
-
Forgiven – Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
-
Justified – Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
-
Heavenly Citizenship – Philippians 3:20-21 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
-
New Creation – 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
-
Peace – John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
-
Friend of God – John 15:14-15 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
-
Indwelt by the Holy Spirit – Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
-
Christ Becomes His Advocate – 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
-
Becomes a Servant of God – Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
These are but some that takes place in the believers’ life. It is a life towards holiness.
But the question is:
What is it that separates Christianity from every other beliefs? What sets the truth apart from all the lies? As the bible reveals, it is ultimately His love and devotion to Jesus, the Lord and the only Savior.
